How to Do a Smith Machine Squat

Set the Smith bar around upper-chest or shoulder height and position the safety stops just below the lowest depth you plan to use.

Step under the bar and place it across the muscular shelf of the upper back, not directly on the neck.

Take a comfortable grip, brace the trunk, stand tall, and rotate the bar to clear the hooks.
