We respect your privacy and give you full control over your personal data. Below is everything you need to know about deleting your Need.fit account or specific data records.
1How to Request Account & Data Deletion
Need.fit users have two convenient ways to request the permanent deletion of their account and associated data:
- Open the Need.fit app on your mobile device.
- Go to Settings > Account & Security.
- Tap Delete Account & Data.
- Confirm your deletion request. Your account will be queued for immediate deletion.

2Deleting Specific Data vs. Deleting the Whole Account
Can users delete specific data without deleting the full account?
Inside the Need.fit app, you can delete individual meal photos, remove specific workout logs, clear custom routines, or reset your body metrics without deleting your account. However, if you choose Account Deletion, all data associated with your profile will be permanently wiped.
3What Data is Permanently Deleted
When an account deletion request is processed, the following personal data is permanently deleted from active production databases:
- Account Credentials: User profile name, email address, password hash, and OAuth authentication tokens.
- Health & Fitness Parameters: Age, biological sex, height, weight, activity levels, macro/calorie targets, and fitness goals.
- Workout Logs & Schedules: Exercise completion history, set/rep logs, custom training plans, and weekly recalibration records.
- Meal Photos & Nutrition Logs: All uploaded food images, meal recognition logs, and recorded macronutrient entries.
- Personal App Preferences: Notification settings, saved equipment lists, and custom unit preferences.
4Data Retention Period & Exceptions
Deletion Timeline
Account data is removed from primary production databases within 30 days of request submission. Encrypted backup archives roll off and are fully purged within 60 days.
Data Retained for Legal Compliance
Certain limited information may be retained beyond account deletion if required by law:
- Financial & Transaction Records: In-app purchase receipts, subscription transactions, and tax invoices are retained for up to 7 years to satisfy statutory financial auditing regulations.
- Anonymized Telemetry: Aggregated system performance and analytics logs stripped of all personal identifiers may be retained indefinitely.
5Age Limits & Target Audience Policy
Need.fit is designed and intended exclusively for users aged 13 and older (or 16 in certain jurisdictions). Need.fit is not targeted at or directed toward young children under the age of 13.
