How to Do a Belt Squat
Fasten the belt securely around the hips and connect it to the machine, cable, or loading arm according to the equipment design.
Stand on the platform with the feet around shoulder width or slightly wider and a comfortable amount of toe-out.
Brace the trunk, stand tall, and release the machine's safety mechanism if it has one.
Bend the hips and knees together and lower under control while keeping the whole foot planted.
Descend to a comfortable depth—around parallel or deeper if you can maintain stable hip, knee, and foot position.
Drive through the feet to extend the knees and hips and return to standing without jerking against the belt.
Reset at the top and repeat, using the handles only for balance rather than pulling yourself upward.
