What Is Daily Water Intake?

Daily water intake is more than the amount of plain water you drink from a bottle or glass.

Total water intake includes plain water, other beverages, and moisture contained in food.

That distinction matters because adult hydration recommendations are often quoted as total-water values, even though not all of that amount needs to come from plain drinking water.

This calculator uses general adult hydration references. Pregnancy, breastfeeding, medical conditions, medications, illness and other circumstances may change fluid needs.
