What Is Daily Protein Intake?
Daily protein intake is the amount of protein you eat across a full day. Protein helps maintain and build body tissues, and exercising adults often use body-weight-relative targets because training increases the need to repair and adapt muscle tissue.
This calculator returns a range instead of one exact number because protein needs vary with training style, total diet, body size, food preferences, and consistency. A range is more honest than pretending one gram target is perfect for every healthy adult.
The estimate is for healthy adults who regularly exercise. It is not medical nutrition advice and is not intended for kidney disease, pregnancy, clinical dietetics, or treatment decisions.
How It's Calculated
The calculator converts body weight to kilograms if needed, then applies exercise-nutrition protein factors to that body weight. Lower exercise range = W x 1.4. Resistance-training reference = W x 1.6. Upper exercise range = W x 2.0. The visible formula is Daily Protein = Body Weight (kg) x Protein Factor. The 1.4-2.0 g/kg/day range comes from exercise-nutrition guidance for most exercising individuals. The 1.6 reference is a practical resistance-training reference, not an exact requirement for every person or a universal biological threshold.

What to Do With Your Result
Use the range as a starting point for planning meals around training, recovery, and total daily calories. You do not need to automatically chase the upper end.
Protein can come from normal foods such as dairy, eggs, fish, poultry, meat, legumes, soy foods, and other protein-containing meals. Supplements are optional convenience tools, not the default recommendation.
