1,709 kcal / day

Based on your inputs, your estimated Total Daily Energy Expenditure is 2649 kcal/day using the Mifflin-St Jeor equation.

What is TDEE?

TDEE means total daily energy expenditure. It is an estimate of the total calories your body uses across a full day, including resting energy needs, normal movement, exercise, and other daily activity.

Your resting energy estimate, commonly displayed as BMR in calorie calculators, is the starting point. This page uses the Mifflin-St Jeor equation for that resting estimate, then applies an activity factor so the result better reflects a typical day rather than complete rest.

A TDEE result is not a direct measurement or a promise of exact calorie needs. It is a practical maintenance estimate that can help you choose a starting calorie target and then compare that estimate with real-world progress.

How It's Calculated

This calculator first estimates resting energy expenditure with the Mifflin-St Jeor equation, then multiplies that resting estimate by the activity factor you select. For men, the formula is BMR = 10W + 6.25H - 5A + 5. For women, the formula is BMR = 10W + 6.25H - 5A - 161. The final estimate is TDEE = BMR x Activity Multiplier. The activity options use the common 1.2, 1.375, 1.55, 1.725, and 1.9 factors. These factors are practical activity-level rules of thumb and were not part of the original Mifflin-St Jeor study, so activity selection adds uncertainty to the final TDEE estimate.

TDEE = BMR x Activity Multiplier

  • W = body weight in kilograms
  • H = height in centimeters
  • A = age in years

What to Do With Your Result

Treat your estimated TDEE as a maintenance baseline: an estimate of the daily calorie intake that may roughly match your current size and activity level.

Use that number as a starting point rather than a fixed prescription. Actual energy needs can vary with activity, body composition, training load, sleep, stress, and changes in routine.

Need.fit can use your goal, schedule, available equipment, and ongoing progress to build a more personalized plan around the estimate instead of treating one calculator result as a permanent target.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does TDEE mean?

TDEE means total daily energy expenditure. It estimates the calories your body uses in a full day from resting metabolism, movement, exercise, and other daily activity.

How does this TDEE calculator calculate daily calorie needs?

This TDEE calculator estimates resting energy with the Mifflin-St Jeor equation and then multiplies that estimate by the activity factor you select. The result is an estimated daily calorie need, not a direct measurement.

Does this TDEE calculator work for men and women?

Yes. The Mifflin-St Jeor equation uses different sex constants for men and women while using the same age, height, and weight variables. The activity factor is then applied to the resting estimate.
